From 6 to 13 April 2025, the city and region of Utrecht centres around health.

Utrecht, 28 March 2025 – From 6 to 13 April 2025, Utrecht will be the beating heart of health and innovation during the third edition of Dutch Health Week. This annual event brings together residents, (healthcare) professionals, and businesses to work towards a healthier future. With a wide range of activities, from knowledge sessions and inspirational talks to art exhibitions and sporting events, Dutch Health Week provides a platform for pioneering initiatives in health, well-being, and sustainable innovation.

Utrecht, Heart of Health

Dutch Health Week is an initiative by Royal Jaarbeurs in collaboration with numerous Utrecht-based partners, including the Municipality of Utrecht, Economic Board Utrecht, Utrecht Marketing, and Utrecht University of Applied Sciences. Together, they position the Utrecht region as an international leader in health and sustainable innovation.

Jeroen van Hooff, CEO of Royal Jaarbeurs, states: “With this week, we demonstrate that Utrecht is at the forefront of health and innovation. We unite science, healthcare, culture, and society to make a real impact.”

Art of Health Exhibition: The Power of Art in a Healthy Society

From 6 to 13 April, the Art of Health exhibition will be on display, a collaboration between the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU) and Utrecht, heart of Health. Five artists present their vision of a healthy future in three specially placed glass containers at Jaarbeursplein Utrecht, Utrecht Science Park – UMC Utrecht, and Eemplein in Amersfoort. Their works explore the relationship between people, health, and the environment, aligning with current themes such as the role of microorganisms in medical innovations and the impact of a healthy living environment.

The Art of Health opening ceremony will take place on 6 April, coinciding with the start of Dutch Health Week. During this event, various members of the Economic Board Utrecht will sign the Utrecht, Heart of Health manifesto, marking a shared ambition to further develop Utrecht as the most innovative health region in Europe.

Special Programme for (Healthcare) Professionals

For healthcare professionals, Dutch Health Week offers various networking opportunities and trade fairs. The Zorg & ICT fair at Jaarbeurs will showcase the latest technological advancements in healthcare. The Utrecht, Heart of Health Startup Square, hosted by ROM Utrecht Region and Zorginnovatie.nl, will be the hub for discovering groundbreaking healthcare innovations. Sixteen leading startups and scale-ups will present their solutions, while experts share their vision on the future of healthcare.

Utrecht as a Leader in Health and Innovation

With Utrecht, Heart of Health, the city and region are committed to positioning Utrecht internationally as a centre for health and innovation. Dutch Health Week not only shares the latest scientific and technological breakthroughs but also highlights the importance of art, culture, and social initiatives in building a healthy society.
