A coffee with Jos Hummelen, content specialist at ROM Utrecht Region since January 2023. Meet Jos and learn what keeps him busy, and how he experiences working in Utrecht and at ROM Utrecht Region.

How do you prefer to drink your coffee in the morning?
I must have freshly ground fair trade coffee from Amersfoort, or I won’t even start the day. Black, with a dash of optimism.

Tell me more about your role at ROM Utrecht Region
For ‘the ROM’ I create everything from our podcast Pepper to photos and from articles to videos at trade shows. Furthermore, I help our ‘Team International’.
What too few people know is that we at ROM Utrecht Region help ambitious entrepreneurs take the step abroad. We also strengthen our regional economy by attracting foreign companies that are a good addition to the current business, so that the innovative capacity is further strengthened.

What are you currently working on/working toward?
We are currently working on a very strong proposition to put Utrecht on the international map as a place to be for entrepreneurs who want to work on healthy people, a healthy living environment or a healthy society. That’s very cool, but also quite complicated. We have to pull together so that we really tell the same story.

What is your favorite place in the Utrecht region?
Close to my house is the Griftpark. Formerly a garbage dump and gas factory, it is now a green oasis where my son likes to pet a cow or rabbit. The transformation of this part of Utrecht also shows: it can all be greener, more fun and healthier!

Who would you like to have a cup of coffee with?
I would like to take a walk with some people from Hilversum Marketing.

Connect with Jos Hummelen.
