A coffee with Amy Gout, project officer at the Utrecht Convention Bureau since May 2024. Meet Amy and learn what keeps her busy, and how she experiences working in Utrecht and at the Utrecht Convention Bureau.
How do you like your coffee in the morning?
“In the morning, I actually prefer tea. My favorites are ginger and mint tea. If I am sitting on a terrace or in a coffee shop, I often choose a chai latte or a latte macchiato.”
Tell us more about your role at UCB / Utrecht Marketing
“Since May 1, I started working at UCB as a project officer where I am involved in various tasks and projects. I work closely with Monique and Dorien, supporting them in bid procedures and organizing site inspections/FAM trips. In addition to my support role, I also work on my own projects, such as organizing the annual Let’s Meet Utrecht event, managing applications through Cvent and maintaining the Venuefinder.”
What are you currently working on / heading towards?
“At the moment I am busy preparing for the third edition of Let’s Meet Utrecht, which will take place in the fall. Let’s meet Utrecht is the networking event where business venues and suppliers from the Utrecht event industry and event planners from all over the country meet.
I am also organizing two site inspections so that convention organizers can get a good idea of what the city & region has to offer for their events.”
What is your favorite place in the Utrecht region?
“My favorite place in the Utrecht region is without a doubt the picturesque village of Nigtevecht, where I come from. For anyone who likes walking, cycling or boating, a visit to Nigtevecht is highly recommended. I also love Utrecht’s city center with all its pleasant terraces, stores and characteristic buildings, not to mention the highest church tower in the Netherlands, the Dom Tower.”
Who would you like to have a cup of coffee with?
“With Utrecht presenter and director Tobias Camman. Together with his friends Daan Boom and Jasper Demolin, they make my favorite series, the FOMO show. In it they go out together to see which activities you really shouldn’t miss and which ones you can let pass by. I would love to know what it’s like behind the scenes.”
